Forgotten Horror Title of the Week - AUTOMATON TRANSFUSION

This is a film that a lot of horror fans have overlooked, and most people have never even heard of. It was released straight to DVD through Dimension Extreme, the same people who distributed Black Sheep, Diary of the Dead, and Teeth. It was called one of Fangoria's top ten films of 2006, and was considered by many to be the re-birth of independent horror.

Basically, while everyone was fighting in the Vietnam war, the government was trying to come up with a way to reanimate the dead to have them fight wars (or something... I'm not really too much of a plot guy). Anyway, the plans were closed for thirty years until they were restarted in a desolate town where casualties wouldn't be missed. Some teens find out about it, try to survive, yada yada yada.

This is an example of what happens when you make a really cheap movie really well. It was filmed using a home video camera, on a budget of about 30,000 dollars. The effects are awesome, almost to the point of being funny. A lot of awesome zombie-related deaths, including one where a zombie rips out a pregnant girl's unborn child and eats it in front of her. Take that, Planned Parenthood!

I wouldn't recommend buying it, unless you're a true horror fanatic, but for a good time and love recklessly gory movies, rent it. Take a look at the trailer and see for yourself.
