Do it in the Dark, but why stop there?

From Dec. 5th-Dec 10th, the residence halls here at SUCO are holding Do it in the Dark, an annual contest to conserve energy and "go green." Last year, it meant that all the lights were off most of the time, but that's about it. I say, why stop there? In an effort to go even greener, try and cut down on more than just electricity, but recycle by being planet-smart. I know of several people on campus working on more creative ways to better this campus, but it can start with you! Be mindful. Here are some tips to help you on your way to being green everywhere you go. I know it ain't easy being green, but with practice it can be.

This PSA has been brought to you by the fine folk at Pwneonta.

Good thing I picked Dick...

Jason Corrigan, former Oneonta mayoral candidate and SUNY Oneonta student, was recently arrested for harrasment and forcible touching. Both winner of the Oneonta mayor race, Dick Miller, and an undisclosed 20-year old reported that he harassed them, verbally and sexually, respectively. The two people he harassed equals .01 percent of all those who voted for him. While that number may seem small, I'm dividing 2 by the 177 people who voted for him. The Daily Star had Mr. Corrigan saying this:

Since I did not win the election, I have returned to being a student and private citizen, and have absolutely no impact or influence on the community or its direction,'' Corrigan said in his statement. "My personal life has nothing to do with Oneonta anymore, and I would appreciate respect and privacy on behalf of the local media outlets just as any other private citizen would.

Damn, he could have been our mayor!

UPDATE! I misspoke (or is it mistyped?) earlier. Mr. Corrigan did not harass Dick Miller, but former Oneonta mayor Kim Muller. Everyone makes mistakes...mine didn't involve the police, though.
